A midweek autumn dinner

When the days grow short and darkness rises early, I enjoy cooking comfort food.
Last night I prepared acorn squash and bratwurst,  Brussels Sprouts and some delicious ice cream afterwards.

It's so easy and makes a satisfying meal. The scent of the baking squash is irresistible. Once the sausages are frying, it becomes enticing...

The dog did not leave my site and waited patiently to get a morsel.
My son explained why he needed definitely a test bite before dinner.
My husband asked at six if dinner was ready....
My daughter volunteered to set the table???
Guys, we never eat before seven?!

Nicely browned, with a hint of butter and brown sugar! Hmmmm!

Alright! Dinner is served!

Oh, my goodness that looks good !
    Brussel sprouts are my favorite...

  2. Hello Victoria:
We like Brussel Sprouts but they are rarely available here in Budapest.....strange in the land of the cabbage!!! However, we do like the name for them...kelbimbo!!

Your supper looks to have been absolutely delicious.......oh,if only we lived closer......... but then we should probably have had a difficult time getting to the table ahead of the rest!!!

  3. Oscar is smart to never leave your side, waiting for something to fall.
I love having dinners at home and cannot wait until my boys are home and asking what they can do to help.
Looks delish. You are a wonderful wife and give such love to all you do.

  4. Those acorn squash look beautiful and I now realise that the squash we had for lunch last week that I thought were acorn, weren't! Have a lovely weekend x
